The SABC announced in November last year that Isidingo, which had been running for almost 21 years, would end in 2020.
There was an uproar from both actors and fans of the soapie. However, their cries fell on deaf ears as the channel stuck to its guns.
As Isidingo plays the series finale of on Thursday 12 March, it doesn’t mean some actors will vanish from the spotlight.

Despite being cagey about the details of their next moves, some have revealed what they’ll be doing.
Motlatsi Mafatshe aka Sechaba
Motlatsi, who is one of the soapies longest-running actors, was not discreet with his disappointment that the show had been canned. In a recent interview with our sister magazine, DRUM, Motlatsi revealed that he will be focusing on his music career.
Katlego Danke aka Kgothalo
She is notorious for keeping her cards quite close to her chest. But Katlego excitedly shared with her fans that she will be joining the cast of Mzansi Magic’s new telenovela, Gomora. She will be portraying a similar role to the one she played in Generations as Dineo Mashaba – a rich trophy wife named Thathi.
Jo-Anne Reyneke aka Lungi
The actress is currently in the BET Africa comedy series Black Tax. She plays the role of 35-year-old Thuli who is faced with the financial difficulty of having to provide for herself and her family.
Simphiwe Ngema aka Phindile
When she’s not acting, she’s singing. Simz, as she’s affectionately known, is back in studio. She teased a clip on Instagram of her making new music.
