Celebrities often share memorable moments they’ve had with fans, and while most of them are funny or cute, sometimes they aren’t pleasant.
Skeem Saam actress, Pebetsi Nolo Matlaila, who plays Mokgadi on the famous SABC 1 show, shared a video with her Instagram followers, where she was telling a story of how her six-year-old daughter, Rabi, was fat shamed by a cashier while they were out shopping.
“I am absolutely livid right now. We were out doing our usual shopping for the house, and this cashier, trying to get my attention, says ‘oh is this your child, I thought Noah [her on-screen son] was your only child, she’s so fat’. Did I not get so pi***ed at her!” she said.
“First of all, can we let a child be a child? Can children not worry about their weight at such a young age. You can’t say such things that could kill a child’s self-esteem, in front of her even! If you have nothing nice to say, then don’t say anything at all,” she ranted.
Pebetsi captioned the video, “My mother used to tell me ‘Pebetsi, it's not a beautiful body that will get you far in life, what will get you far is a beautiful heart ’ And that's what I try to instil in my daughter.

A lot of people sympathised with the 33-year-old, including fellow Skeem Saam actress, Innocent Sadiki, who commented: “I feel you, it’s sad ?? honestly. That’s so insensitive. Sorry mommy”
