She has to pay a fine or face jailtime, submit her passport and report to a police station twice a week.
Singer Zahara is in a bit of trouble with the taxman and the law.
She's been found guilty of failing to appear in the Palm Ridge Specialised Commercial Crimes Court.
The Commercial Crimes Court handed down the verdict after the singer failed to appear in court on 19 April. A warrant of arrest was then issued and she appeared on 7 June.
This was related to failure of submitting income tax returns of her personal finances and those of her company.
The singer, real name Bulelwa Mkutukana, has been fined R1500 or three months imprisonment.
As part of her bail conditions Zahara has been ordered to submit her passport to the commercial crimes officers within 24 hours and she is to report to the Roodepoort Police Station twice weekly, Tuesdays and Thursdays between 08:00 and 18:00
According to a statement released by the NPA, Zahara’s reason for not appearing in court were deemed unreasonable by state prosecutor Nerissa Reddy.
She only appeared in court when the commercial crimes investigators, Warrant Officer Pillay and Constable Tumber began to trace her whereabouts.
When she was in court, the magistrate first heard evidence for her failure to appear in April. Then they proceeded with the case where she is charged in her personal capacity, as well as a representative of her company, Zahara Trading (Pty) Ltd.
"In this case she faces charges related to non-submission of personal and company income-tax returns to the South African Revenue Service," the NPA said in a statement.

State prosecutor Nerrisa Reddy says Zahara's celebrity status will not give her immunity from facing justice.
"Justice should be meted out equally, as everyone is equal in the eyes of the law and should be treated as such,” she said.
