She's been the talk of the town lately. Fans and foes have been flocking to her social media, desperate for any scrap of new information.

But she doesn't want to focus on the negative. TV personality and Idols judge Unathi Nkayi is focused on returning for the second season of Festive Get-Together in The Life Artois.

She's be hosting celebrity friends and family, getting together and reconnecting over food and conversation with co-presenter chef-restaurateur Alessandro Khojane.

This season, the show promises more glamour, bonding and an additional episode.

“Given the lives we lead and the tumultuous, crazy year we have all had, many of us haven’t had the time to connect with friends and loved ones. It’s so important to spend time with those who make our lives more meaningful. So, this show is about connection and rediscovering what it means to live with intention,” Unathi says.

In the show, Unathi and Alessandro host high-profile working friends, couples, and families. They share their journey to success and the struggles to find a balance, which is something everyone can understand.

Unathi shares her lesson in the past year is that we’re living on borrowed time.

“We must chase all of our dreams. There is no such thing as overnight success when it comes to the calibre of guests. It takes hard work and commitment to self to make sure one succeeds,” she tells Drum.

She also says she has had an incredible year.

"But I have learnt that I need to rest more. I’m a hard worker and love success so I tend to grind non stop."

This season, guests include her friends Minnie Dlamini and Melanie Bala; couple Khuli Chana and Lamiez Holworthy and foodie friends Maps Maponyane and J’Something.

“Gosh it’s such an honour to be able to sit down with South Africa’s most powerful entertainers in their different spheres. It’s an absolute privilege to have an audience with them and to get to feel their energy. Many of them don’t do interviews so it certainly is going to be a wonderful, warm and intimate season.”

Unlike last year, the lockdown restrictions have eased, more families and friends will get to ‘get-together’, and Unathi is looking forward to spending this Christmas with her friends and family.

“I’m still very paranoid when it comes to Covid-19, so I spent the last year renovating my home because I am going to be spending a lot more time there. I will spend this festive with family and friends at home.”

She also added that she is looking forward to learning how to bead from her mother this December.

“She has made 90% of the beads I own and I have asked her to teach me this festive because her eyesight isn’t as good as it used to be and I want to continue that legacy for my family. “

The popular show premieres on 1 December 2021 at 9.30pm on Mzansi Magic, DStv channel 161.
