Thando Thabethe's reality show starts on 20 January

She puts the reality into reality TV and will always put her friends on. They are, after all, growing together seamlessly as entrepreneurs.

Unstoppable Thabooty highlights all there is about actress, radio and TV personality Thando Thabethe alongside her mom Sibongile Thabethe, sister Sanele Thabethe - a fashion designer, creative director, and fashion buyer - and her TV and film producer best friend and business partner in Redwood Media, Tumi Maimela.

The show also features Thando’s close friend Given Baloyi and childhood friend Mantsoe “Pout” Tsatsi as they manoeuvre life in Johannesburg.

The reality show is coming back for the second season on 20 January and will air on BET.

In the first season, Thando shared happy moments, was vulnerable, and opened up about plastic surgery.

There were also some real moments to inspire her fans and show them that success takes time and it will feature popular figures such as Rami Chuene, Motlatsi Mafatshe, Patricia Boyer, MandzNotHot, and Zanele Potelwa.

“In the second season, our audience can expect more glitz and glam, but most importantly, they will see the seeds that were planted in season one coming into fruition in season two. It’s a REAL reality show. I have learned that people will always say something about something. The best way is to make sure you live to your true authentic self - which I am doing.”

Not only will viewers see the success stories, but her mother will be more candid about her journey as a mother and share her experiences.

“My mom talks about a time in her life that was painful, and she has risen from that past, in that she is helping other women be able to stand up and fight for themselves too and not to feel alone. Not only is it in front of the scenes, behind the scenes too, Tumi and I have placed certain crew members in positions they have never done before and are doing well.”

Speaking to Drum, Thando says she believes that the show has evolved since its inception and in the new season, viewers can look forward to seeing everyone’s personal stories and journeys that represent winning and growing to greater heights.

“The viewers can see the cast finding new ventures, finding their purpose and growth: physically, spiritually, professionally, and mentally? The show is already authentic as we don’t fake anything, and we don’t put on drama for the show. It’s relatable as it shows me in all my aspects of being a businesswoman, daughter, sister, and friend. It shows that I work for everything I am and have. A lot of children who want to get into the entertainment industry are not taken seriously in our impoverished communities, so you will see how I will be giving back to those young aspiring artists.”

Unstoppable Thabooty is a production from her production company called Redwood Media, and she says even though they have done the first season, this season has its memorable moments, and having the crew with her on the 947 ride was a memorable experience.  It made the challenge a bit easier knowing she wasn’t alone, and "the pranks are also pretty awesome".

However, she says this will be the last season as the company is looking at venturing into other businesses.

“As much as it has been great shooting Unstoppable, but this will be the last season. As Redwood, we would like to explore the business going elsewhere to other parts of this amazing industry.”
