He's the dark, silent type. Tough and not one to be messed with, he's also the one to look up to with respect as the head of the family.

From the very first episode, violence has been a constant theme on Showmax’s  new series, The Wife. But the cool, calm and collected eldest Zulu brother, Nkosana, was introduced to viewers and fans as a towering figure of reason and stern head of the family.

The end of season one saw the brothers successfully execute a prison break to get his sweetheart, Zandile, out of jail. But this week, when season two started, viewers got to see another side of Nkosana, played by Mondli Makhoba.

'A very soft, very in love and will do anything to make you happy' kind of guy.

Bhut’omdala, as he is affectionately known, has South Africans glued to their screens as he fixes his eyes on his beautiful Zah, played by Khanyi Mbau.

When the two lock eyes, it seems the rest of the world stops and he only sees her.

He is also very romantic – picking out an outfit for her before she even came home from prison and giving her flowers with R200 notes in them.

In a Showmax interview, Khanyi said Nkosana makes the Zulu language sound romantic.

“I'm happy that Season 2 comes out in February, which is the Month of Love, because they have such a beautiful love story. They serve couple goals from the get go, even in prison.

“For the viewer, one thing they'll truly enjoy is their language. Nkosana is very poetic, how he uses his words, and how he relays love to her. Nkosana makes the Zulu language so romantic; he makes it sound like French.”

Another thing that got viewers excited was the intense sex seen between the two. It looked real and showed a brilliant chemistry between them.
