Thandiswa Mazwai says one of her favourite songs from her forthcoming album, Sankofa, is Sabela, which is a working title. It's a call for us to remember who are, Ubuntu, and our journeys.

Her music has always reflected her heritage, experiences, and the sociopolitical landscape of her beloved country.

She is known for her soulful and captivating voice, and her much-anticipated album, Sankofa, which means "go back and fetch it" in the Akan language of Ghana, perfectly encapsulates Thandiswa's approach to her craft: a beautiful blend of honouring the past and embracing the future.

Now her Durban fans are in for a treat as they will be the first to her Sankofa live at the Playhouse Theatre as Thandiswa gets ready to present her highly anticipated album, Sankofa, there for the very first time.
