Is Mariah the drama?

Maybe so. Fans of reality show the Real Housewives of Durban (RHOD) got accustomed Jojo Robinson being the one to storm off when the kitchen got too hot.

“I just needed to re-adjust my crown,” she quipped after she left her castmates disgruntled about being hostless after Jojo left the trip prematurely.

The friendship between returnees Annie Ludick, Sorisha Naidoo and newcomers Maria Valaskatzis, Silindile “Slee” Wendy Ndlovu, Mbali Ngiba and Sane Bhengu seemed to be getting ever cosier following the wedge caused by fan favourite Nonku Williams’ constant foot-in-mouth moments.

But in Jojo Robinson Nonku seems to have a friend willing to fight beside her even as the rift continues to widen.

Nonku went as far as saying she’d defend Jojo till death even after Mrs Robinson threw water into her eyes before storming off at dinner. Maria who’d previously been close to Jojo later had a heart-to-heart with the tattooed beauty about Nonku, going as far as saying, “Nonku is trash.” Jojo, who did not take kindly at all to this comment, retorted Maria could kiss her ass and should deflate her botoxed lips.

A self-proclaimed fan of the show, MaBlerh told Drum last week being the reunion host of this season feels a huge responsibility.

“Because I have watched the show from the first season, I understand these ladies. I am aware of the seriousness of some of the issues that need to be tackled in the reunion. When I went to record, I went in there thinking about my Twitter timeline because we have been watching and commenting on the show together, through all of the seasons.

“This season, though, was different from the others. The ladies are raw with putting their emotions out there and as viewers we watch them and see people we know or ourselves in them. Also, the toxicity and the heaviness has been brought to the front of the show.

“As much as everything has to be entertaining and fun, I also understand that it cannot be flippant and kid gloves are needed. There are sensitive issues that we needed to navigate through.”

From “I’m not broke, I’m financially overstretched” to “hit, cry, run”, MaBlerh says he left no stone unturned.

He’s shared a sneak peek of Maria seeming to storm off set, addressed the Mabusi vibes question that led to Nonku and Mbali’s falling out, and quizzed Sane on what she meant when she said that Annie slept her way to the top.

It’s tense, dramatic, wildly entertaining and the reunion we deserve. We're on tenterhooks till the 10th.

When Showmax announced Mablerh would be the host, fellow Durbanite Minne Dlamini rushed to congratulate him, saying, "He’s going to be perfect."

"Love this for us," commented Sane who stuck to her guns in a new preview shared by Showmax. "One thing about me ????i DO NOT REMEMBER anything ????ngibulalenike".
