He's come far in life. He was one of Mzansi's favourite child stars and was introduced to our screens through presenting on SABC 1 kiddies show Yo-TV when he was a teenager. Then, he was known as Psyfo.

Later he became a musician.

Now he's all grown up and goes by his real name, Sidwell Sipho Ngwenya and is more into the business of entertainment.

“Unfortunately, I have since retired from music and acting in 2014,” he tells Drum.

“I decided to focus more on the business side of entertainment. But music will always be a part of me. Even though I am not involved in the game like I used to be, I still find time to connect with musicians and mentor young artists when I can.”

In 2020, Sipho married his partner Aamirah after dating for two years. They had an exclusive and intimate wedding on a mountain top.

“I got married to my best friend on top of a mountain, in my home province and I don’t have all the words to express how happy and in love I am with this man who has been so committed and loyal to me. I have many interesting and funny stories to share about our special day. Overall, I can’t believe we did it mate,” Aamirah shared on social media.

The couple is expecting their first child in a few months and he tells Drum he cannot wait to be a dad.

“I am really looking forward to being a father,” he says.

“This could not have come at a better time in my life. So much has been happening for me in the past five years that it would have been so tough for me to be a present father. I can’t wait. My wife and I are counting the days,” he says.

“I’m looking forward to having someone I am responsible for. I’m looking forward to being the best father I can be, I'm not sure what that means yet. I am definitely not looking forward to the sleepless nights,” he chuckles.

Last year, after celebrating their wedding, Sipho lost his adopted mother.  He took to Instagram to share the heart-breaking news and thanked his mother for everything she had done for him.

“Thank you for everything you ever did for me. You gave me a new destiny and a chance for a better life,” he wrote.

“As heart-breaking as it is to type this I am also happy that you lived a full life and took your last breath doing what you love doing most, travelling to other countries. We will miss you and love you always.”

After losing his mom, Sipho and his wife have something to celebrate after he recently announced that he graduated with an MBA in Business Administration from GIBS Business School.

“Patience, resilience, sacrifice, and effort! Today it gives me so much joy to be rewarded with the work I put in. Thank you, the University of Pretoria, GIBS Business School for the great lessons and this achievement. I am an MBA graduate!” he shared with his followers.

Sipho tells Drum that it feels great to have accomplished such after sacrificing so much.

“The journey started in 2015 when I enrolled for a BCom in Marketing Management. I then went to complete a Post Grad Diploma in Business Administration in 2019,” he says.

“I enrolled for my MBA with GIBS in 2020. Although I have been studying, I am still working at Multichoice which I have been with since 2014. I am still growing in the organisation with the ambition to become a leader who can change people’s lives in a positive way.”
