Has there ever been a more iconic couple on TV? We say no.

Karabo Moroka and Tau Mogale on Generations walked so all the other TV couples that were to follow could run.

When eight o’clock was still eight o’clock, South Africans gathered in their different living rooms watching the couple and other stars go through life’s challenges and then rise above it all.

It was aspirational TV at its best. Karabo came from the wealthy Moroka family that had an advertising company and Tau was the great love of her life who also ran illegal operations on the side. Together they ran New Horizons.

Now Generations: The Legacy viewers will get the incredible treat of having the OG’s return to the show for special appearances.

The SABC announced that the show will have Connie Ferguson and Rapulana Seiphemo return in April to play Karabo and Tau, respectively.

“Viewers can expect all the class, charm and poise that these two have brought to the roles of Tau and Karabo. It promises to be an epic month with the drama of the show demanding the intervention of two important characters.

“As part of the larger Generations: The Legacy family, we can assure viewers that this is by no means that last or the least that we’ll see of the two,” says SABC’s Caroline Phalakatshela.

The duo have since moved on to play other unforgettable roles like when Rapulana was Tumi on White Wedding and Lucky Kunene on Gangster's Paradise - Jerusalema. Connie has played Mavis on Rockville and Veronica Masire on Kings of Joburg.

Before end of The Queen on Mzansi Magic at the beginning of the year, the couple was reunited and they were married as Harriet Khoza and Hector Sabata.

But no matter where they go and whatever characters they play, to South Africans, they will always be Karabo and Tau.
