It’s been a quarter-century since Lebo M shot to fame for writing and singing the opening line – Nants ingonyama bagithi (here comes the lion) – of The Lion King. The Soweto-born singer, producer and composer once again put his magical touch to the soundtrack of Disney’s new computer-animated remake.

Lebo isn’t blowing his own trumpet. “I hear people saying I’m successful,” he tells DRUM. “I appreciate the sentiment, but I am nowhere near successful.
