The party scene is intensifying with each passing day as temperatures soar in Johannesburg.

It is still the festive season and no amount of heat will throw a spanner in those works and some organisers have opted to bring their own heat to the equation.

Metro FM will be taking over The Park at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park with its Heatwave experience. The lineup is stacked with noteworthy acts like Shimza, DJ Maphorisa, Young Stunna, Somizi, Murumba Pitch, Oscar Mbo and an array of other enticing prospects.

The mind behind organising this event is Gregory Hlatshwayo, an organiser who has played a role in this industry for 14 years now.

"The art of creating unique experiences has been my motivation," says the resident of Daveyton.

He was enlisted to help Metro FM bring this event to life.

"They were looking for a venue that speaks to their concept and Emperors Palace was the most suitable," he explains.

The mood and fell of the event will be festive and celebratory. Gregory was also tasked to ensure the music would be ecliptic as possible.

"For this specific concept, I had compile a variety of music genres. Here we have Yanos, House, Afro Tech, etc."

The Metro FM Heatwave which is touted to be 'the party that never stops' has been in existence for a decade now, continuously assembling the best and brightest musical talents to thrill audiences in Johannesburg and around the country.

Young Stunna
Young Stunna is expected to stun the crowd at the Metro FM Heatwave.

He explains what awaits as, "a historic event, the first one ever hosted in the City of EKurhuleni and a party that never stops", Gregory vows.

Despite it being so hot in the City of Gold, December is a rainy season and contingencies have been put in place to see the party moved under cover should the heavens open up which as you can imagine can be a challenge for an organiser.

Gregory shares his insights as to what the essential ingredients are in throwing a successful party or event of this magnitude.

"What makes a good event is the type of quality the promoter produces. Quality lineup, quality production and a quality setup. The experience has to be of good quality. Unfortunately, not too many event organisers can actually produce quality shows."

The Metro FM Heatwave will take place on December 9 and do keep an eye out on our social media platforms for a ticket giveaway.
