Former The Queen actress, Dineo Langa, as well as comedian, Donovan Goliath will be hosting the 26th annual South African Music Awards (SAMAs) which will be taking place virtually from 3 to 7 August 2020.
Taking to her social media pages on Thursday morning, Dineo shared the news by posting a poster of the event with the caption: “So cat's out the bag...”

In a press statement issued earlier this month, The Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA) announced that the award ceremony would be streamed on My Muze by Vodacom and broadcast on Mzansi Magic to adhere to social distancing regulations.
“The SAMAs has become the most prestigious and sought-after music accolade in the country and in the time of Covid-19 and the current social distancing norms, the party has moved from the Sun City Superbowl to be streamed on My Muze by Vodacom and broadcast on Mzansi Magic, DStv channel 161,” the statement read.

Under the theme ForThaKultcha, the SAMAs will be presented over five nights between 3 and 7 August at 9.30pm in adrenaline filled yet bite-size 30-minute episodes, except for the last night which will be a 45-minute grand finale.
“We look forward to the SAMA26 virtual experience. Our teams are hard at work to deliver a show that we will all be proud of given the current state the world is in. I invite you all to tune in, plug in and do it for the culture,” RiSA CEO, Nhlanhla Sibisi said.
