Born in Rustenburg in the 1970s, the chief of strategy who grew up in Tlhabane, Mabopane and Mmabatho, was made for leadership.
"I grew up with a matriarch at the head of the family - my grandmother, who raised me for the first ten years of my life. She was a natural-born entrepreneur, which taught me a lot about boundaries and having a business mindset. She was my first role model, showing me that women can do anything," Neo Makhele says.
"My mother is someone who pursued knowledge and education; she has been the greatest influence in my life. On the other hand, my father was a disciplinarian who taught me accountability throughout my formative years.
