VOLKSWAGEN South Africa has been announced as the Digital Brand of the Year at the 2022 Annual Bookmark Awards.
Mzansi’s most loved car brand emerged victorious alongside their creative partner, Ogilvy, which was awarded Best Digital Agency.
In a statement released on Monday, 1 August, VW said the awards were presented to Volkswagen and Ogilvy for delivering digital excellence in the Volkswagen “Mswenko” and New Polo “Game On” campaigns.
The campaigns enabled the brand to launch Mzansi’s first brand-led NFT campaign earlier this year.
Bridget Harpur, head of marketing for the Volkswagen Passenger Brand, said they were honoured to have won the award through their social media presence.
“Our team’s dedication to supporting the brand with digital creative excellence has not only showcased best-in-class execution, but has set the standard for it.
“We would also like to thank and congratulate our partners of 43 years, Ogilvy, for their much-earned award as Best Digital Agency – thank you for pushing us to be brave,” Harpur said.
VW also scooped seven other awards at the 2022 Bookmark Awards and they are:
