WHATSAPP launched voice messaging in 2013 and this year they are taking the function to the next level.
Last month, the messaging company, which boasts about two billion monthly active users, announced that it will roll out some improvements to voice messages over the coming weeks.
In a statement, WhatsApp said the new updates will make recording and sending a voice message as quick and easy as writing a text.
The new voice message features will include:
- Out of Chat Playback:
This feature allows you to listen to a voice note outside of the chat or while responding to other messages.
- Pause/Resume Recording:
Brace yourselves, when recording a voice message, WhatsApp will now allow you to pause and record again.
- Waveform Visualization:
This new feature allows you to see the visual representation of the sound. You can now see which part of the voice note is loud or quiet.
- Draft Preview:
Listen to your voice notes before sending them.
- Remember Playback:
If you pause when listening to a voice message, you can pick up where you left off when you return to the chat.
- Fast Playback on Forwarded Messages:
Play voice messages at 1.5x or 2x speed to listen to messages faster on both regular and forwarded messages.
“Voice messages have made it quick and easy for people to have more expressive conversations.
“We’re excited for users to try these new features as they roll out in the coming weeks,” WhatsApp said in a statement.
