DOES your network replace the data you lose during load shedding?
When load shedding strikes, mobile networks lose their internet connection.
This is a frustration that leaves many unable to use their data.
Tech It Out recently asked SunReaders if their network providers replaced their data during massive power outages and most of them said that was not the case.
Well fortunately, one of Mzansi’s biggest mobile operators, Cell C, has come on board to cut the frustration faced by many customers who lose hours of connectivity and do not get the benefit of data they buy with their hard-earned money.
Cell C has introduced the first-ever solution that can help its clients claim data that may have been lost during load shedding.
According to the mobile network, customers will choose when to claim their free data.
“The free data includes social or streaming data that can be claimed within three days from the date of purchase of a Cell C data bundle. The free bundles can be claimed 24/7, even when load shedding is suspended,” Cell C said.
CEO Douglas Craigie-Stevenson said: “We have developed an industry first that gives our customers the peace of mind that even when their service is interrupted, they can reconnect at no additional cost.”
He said they will be offering customers free data, starting from 150MB across qualifying bundles.
The data can be claimed on *147#.
These bundles cannot be bought and are available for prepaid customers only.
