FACEBOOK is set to shut down its podcast platform a year after it was launched.
Bloomberg News reported that content creators would not be able to upload new material from this week, and that the entire platform would be disconnected on 3 June.
According to The Verge,an online tech magazine, the closure of the podcast was part of a re-evaluation strategy by the social media platform to offer simplified audio products.
Meta’s Adelaide Coronado told The Verge that the changes would make it easier for the company to offer audio-related products.
“After a year of learning and iterating on audio-first experiences, we’ve decided to simplify our suite of audio tools on Facebook. We’re constantly evaluating the features we offer so we can focus on the most meaningful experiences,” said Coronado.
