According to Daily Star, the US security and exchanges commission reportedly obtained a letter by Musk, in which he made his lucrative best and final offer to completely buy Twitter.
In the letter sent to Bret Taylor, the Twitter board chairman, Musk wrote: “I invested in Twitter as I believe in its potential to be the platform for free speech around the globe, and I believe free speech is a societal imperative for a functioning democracy.”

Reuters reported that the billionaire offered to buy the platform for about $41 billion (about R600 billion) and pay $54,20 (about R790) per share in cash.
“My offer is my best and final offer, and if it is not accepted, I would need to reconsider my position as a shareholder,” Musk added.
He recently bought a 9,2% share in the social media giant, becoming Twitter’s largest shareholder. It remains to be seen whether his offer will be accepted.
