MAHINDRA has unveiled the all new Scorpio-N SUV in Mzansi.

The new SUV will come to the country towards the end of this year, and will launch early next year.

The company is proud of its performance, technology, capability and innovation that it decided to start making noise about the car months ahead of its official launch.

SunWheels experienced the car’s immersive, cutting-edge driving experience while pushing it through the paces at Broederstroom Testing Facilities.

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited head of international operations, automotive division, Sachin Arolkar, said they’re happy to have simultaneously unveiled the Scorpio-N in Mzansi and Nepal, alongside India.

“The Scorpio-N is planned in South Africa in the coming months and it will proudly carry the new Twin Peaks logo. The new brand’s identity is in tune with Mahindra’s focus to be the makers of sophisticated and authentic SUVs.

“It heralds a strategic shift across our SUV portfolio, where we are putting the building blocks in place for a new world with a range of authentic SUVs,” said Arolkar.

Mahindra South Africa CEO, Rajesh Gupta, said the company’s decision to include Mzansi in the global reveal of the Scorpio-N was a clear sign of its commitment to the country as a second home outside of India.

“Mahindra South Africa is regularly on the list of fastest growing SUV and bakkie brands in the country,” he said.

The Scorpio-N is powered by a TGDi mStallion (petrol) engine with 149kW (200 PS) of power and 380 Nm of torque and mHawk (diesel) engine with 128.6kW (175PS) of power and 400 Nm torque, offered in both six-speed manual and automatic transmissions and 4X4 as an option.

Ushering the Scorpio-N to Mzansi is its equally powerful XUV700.

More details will be revealed at the upcoming launch.
