NOTHING compares to the fun of driving the new Suzuki Baleno, that was recently launched in the hills and valleys of the KZN coast and midlands.
We also took it for a spin in the city, and it did not disappoint.
The Baleno is definitely an add-on to the successes the Japanese brand is currently witnessing.
This vehicle is a nippy performer with a lot of modern features that are needed by budget-car buyers. From the front design, the Baleno looks exciting and unique with what the brand’s Chelsy Pluto calls emotive styling with expressive design.
Chrome accents above fog lights in the Suzuki GLX, with LED lights and a bold grille, change the game when it comes to the new Baleno.
Inside, the interior boasts a black and navy dash with two-tone elements to the seats, making it feel and look more comfortable than the previous model. It is quite spacious and comfortable, and I specifically loved the seven-inch infotainment touch-screen that gives a clear view when you engage reverse in your gears.

You also get a fair boot space of 214L. The heads-up display on the dash shows more than just speed – bringing the whole cluster to the driver’s focus depending on what they choose to see on the display.
The Baleno’s 1,4L engine has given the vehicle a boost when it comes to performance. It is not only smooth in operating, but also has some good power and speed when you ask for it.
