A McLaren super car crashed during the rainy conditions on Cape Town's N1 on Wednesday morning.
City of Cape Town Traffic Services spokesperson Kevin Jacobs said the accident occurred around 9:45 near the Plattekloof turn-off in the direction of the city.
"Yes, it was a McLaren," said Jacobs.
Although the exact model of the car is still unknown, McLaren power cars can fetch anything between R1.8 million and R4 million.
The condition of the person driving the vehicle was not immediately available.
The local dealership preferred not to comment to protect the privacy of their client.
Cape Town's roads were wet on Wednesday as another cold front set in with intermittent rain.
Pictures emerged of a woman standing next to the vehicle with its mangled nose, with her hands raised in despair, in what could be a hefty repair bill to the vehicle.
