THE Tiggo 7 Pro has landed in Mzansi, and it completes the Chery Pro range.
It brings technology, luxury and modern design to the upper, mid-range SUV market.
The launch of the Tiggo 7 Pro follows that of the Tiggo 4 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro, and it will slot in-between the models. Two versions of the Tiggo 7 Pro, Distinctive and Executive, will be available.
With this third model, Chery has created a complete line-up of luxury SUVs, offering customers a choice of a compact and sporty model (Tiggo 4 Pro), larger and more luxurious five-seat SUV (Tiggo 7 Pro) and flagship SUV with seven seats and an all-inclusive luxury interior (Tiggo 8 Pro).
“At Chery, we reserve the Pro moniker for our best SUVs, and the Tiggo 7 Pro is no exception. From the striking modern and flowing design to the all-digital cockpit, our customers will never feel like they have had to compromise on luxury, specifications or performance when buying a Tiggo Pro,” said Tony Liu, executive deputy general manager of Chery South Africa.
On the side of the Tiggo 7 Pro are unique 18” alloy wheels with red brake callipers on the executive model while a concave-to-convex curve creates a uniquely sporty feeling. At the rear, an edge-to-edge light bar tail light is only interrupted by the large and bold Chery logo. The roof-mounted spoiler and dual faux exhaust surrounds are standard.
Chery power has become synonymous with some of the most modern and efficient internal combustion engines in the world, including the Tiggo 7 Pro.
Both versions of the Tiggo 7 Pro are fitted with Chery’s 1.5 litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine. It is equipped with multipoint direct injection and 16 valves (four per cylinder) for an impressive 108kW at 5 500rpm and 210Nm in a flat torque power band between 1 750rpm and 4 500rpm.
The Tiggo 7 Pro delivers its power to the front wheels through an ultra-smooth CVT transmission with nine pre-programmed “spreads”. The gear shifter is fully electronic.
Three large-format digital displays take pride in the cabin, with the first being a 7” digital centre information panel in front of the driver. This floating screen offers a host of customisation options, and promises clear legibility of all information in light or dark conditions.
Then a 10,25” LCD screen crowns the centre console, and as per other Chery Tiggo Pro models, it forms the heart of the information and entertainment settings. The system has a high-output audio system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Bluetooth hands-free dialling as standard. The centre screen also projects the image from the standard reverse camera, and there are two USB ports in front and one in the second row.
Chery Tiggo 7 models are sold with a five-year/60 000km service plan, five-year/unlimited kilometre roadside assistance programme, five-year/150 000km general mechanical warranty and comprehensive 10-year/1 million kilometre engine warranty.
