Pastors found dead on the mountain

THE TWO young pastors went to the mountain to pray, but they didn’t come back . . . and the worst happened!

The bodies of the two pastors, both from Comet section in Makwane Village, QwaQwa in the Free State, were discovered on the mountains.

When Pastor Tshepang Hlaeli (24) and Pastor Thabiso Letsheleha (23) didn’t come home after going out on 29 January, the police and the community started searching for them around the cattle posts on Monday, 6 February.

“The first body, identified as that of Tshepang Hlaeli, was discovered at Metsimatso cattle post,” said seemingly without any injuries,”Warrant Officer Mmako Mophiring.

“He was found by shepherds who led the searching team to him. The body was identified as that of Tshepang Hlaeli.”

Members of the Hlaeli family believe their son was murdered because they claimed he wanted to leave a group of fake pastors who were encouraging him to make money illegally. They believe he will reveal their secrets.

Family spokeswoman Modiehi Hlaeli said: they always warned him to stay away from the fake pastors. “The postmortem report revealed that he was beaten at the back of the head and he had internal bleeding.,” said Modiehi.

“He usually went to pray Saturdays, but this day he went on Sunday.”

She said he was a gifted pastor and developing as a prophet with a bright future.

“He told the family someone wanted to kill him.”

Tshepang had become engaged on 30 December last year.

The second body was also discovered near the cattle post and identified as that of near cattle post wearing blue jeans and black and white takkies. His father identified him positively as his son,Thabiso Letsheleha. He was found in a bad state. The family believes the body was mauled by dogs. because of the damage to the upper body.

Family Spokeswoman Maitumeleng Nyaile said: “they will wait for police investigations to determine what happened.“It’s normal to pray on the mountains. We want to know what happened to our son because his body was in a bad state.”

Inquest dockets were opened.

Due to the decomposition ofLetsheleha was buried yesterday, 8 February, while Hlaeli will be laid to rest on Saturday.

Family Spokeswoman Maitumeleng Nyaile said they will wait for police investigations to determine what happened.

“It’s normal to pray on the mountains. We want to know what happened to our son. His body was on a bad state,” she said

The prominent The pastor of the Apostolic Faith Mission in Batho location in Bloemfontein, Matefu Mokoena, said this was an unfortunate incident.

“Everybody can go and pray on the mountains. There is no specifications. We call on police to leave no stone unturned to arrest the perpetrators,” said Pastor Mokoena
