THE FACTS
MAGGY Mathobele from Freedom Park, Soweto asked the SunDefender for help with her daughter’s claim from the Road Accident Fund (RAF).She said her daughter (9) was hit by a taxi and was hospitalised for months. When she was discharged she had severe disabilities. She said case was opened against the taxi driver but to date, nothing has happened. Maggy submitted a claim to the RAF. She received confirmation that her claim had been received but to date she doesn’t know what the progress has been on the claim.
WHAT I DID
I contacted the RAF to ask them to help Maggy by checking the status of her application and to advise on what was causing the delay.
SOLUTION
Mpho Manyasha from RAF confirmed that Maggy has been contacted and updated about the status of the claim and the necessary medical appointments have been made and communicated to her. Maggy confirmed that the RAF has informed her about the progress of her claim and made arrangements for her daughter to see doctors.
