THE FACTS
NORA Masinga from Joburg contacted our office, saying her uncle died, leaving her grandmother and her two children – the uncle’s siblings – as beneficiaries.
However, the grandmother did not receive 50% of the money she was supposed to.
ADVICE
The beneficiaries need to contact Human Resources at the company where Nora’s late uncle was working to establish how much each has been given.
Nora’s gogo has the right to ask the company to disclose what percentage she was allocated, and request the last financial statement to check if her payment was a full and final settlement.
