THE FACTS

SOLOMON Mkhize from Nancefield in Soweto told the SunDefender he had a credit account with a retail store but when he lost his job, he could no longer make his payments.

He started doing odd jobs and made minimum payments.

When he found a better job, he applied for credit but he was told he was blacklisted. He wants to know what it means to be blacklisted.

ADVICE

Being blacklisted means you were not able to meet your credit obligations, which means you will not be able to get credit when you apply for it.

The reason will be that you were unable to pay other debts. Solomon will have to clear his name before applying for credit again.
