TV presenter Khotso Rams said he was happy to finally be living his dream.

TV presenter Khotso Rams knew from a young age he was an entertainer.

According the host (real name Khotso Ramorwesi), he used to imitate other presenters while growing up.

The 30-year-old from Dawn Park, in Ekurhuleni, said working at TV station Moja Love was a dream come true.

Khotso said: “I was over the moon when I received a call from the channel because this had been something I’d always wanted to do.

“But it took shooting three episodes for it to sink in.”

Khotso is the host of Traditional Wedding on Moja Love which airs on Saturday evenings at 7pm.

Khotso said the show celebrated the cultural and traditional aspects of African weddings.

Insisted the presenter: “I always believed it would come in the form of an entertainment gossip show.

“Never in my life could I have imagined my big break would come in the form of a wedding show.”

Khotso said the show had been received positively by the audience, especially in an environment that would typically exclude people gay people from all topics covered in the show.

Said Khotso: “I’ve always loved creating spaces that encourage people to feel good about themselves.

“My love for presenting was birthed when I was 15 years old, after winning the school’s annual personality contest.”

He said he felt fortunate to have grown up in a supportive and open-minded family.

“My mother, Gester, was my Kris Jenner, in how she always made me feel extra special. She always encouraged me.”

Khotso said he started his TV presenter journey as a caller count kid on SABC1 kids show, YoTV Wildroom.

“I then moved to a show on SABC3 called Memberz Only as a co-host in its season two. In 2012, I was a top 30 finalist for SABC1 music show, Live.”

  • Catch Khotso in Traditional Wedding on channel 157 Saturdays at 7PM.
