STELLENBOSCH FC were crowned champions of the DStv Diski Challenge!

Stellies came from behind to snatch a 2-1 victory over TS Galaxy on the season's final day at Tsakane Stadium in Brakpan.

Stellies went to the match needing a point to clinch the title, and they did it in style, collecting all three points to finish the season with 64 points from 30 games.

The visitors made their intentions clear from the first minutes of the match, threatening Galaxy with the likes of Devin Titus missing clear cut chances. However, despite their dominance, Stellies were punished towards the end of the first half, with Daanyal Daya opening the scoresheet.

But Galaxy celebrations were cut short as Stellies pulled an equaliser four minutes later through Antonio van Wyk's free-kick, which saw the match halftime with a 1-1 scoreline.

In the second half, Galaxy came out guns blazing as they were hoping to spoil Stellies party. They created a couple of chances but failed to find the back of the net.

Stellenbosch took the lead in the 65th minute, with Van Wyk completing his brace, which proved to be enough to earn them all the points on the final day.

Galaxy tried to fight back with Danya and Aphelele Teto, troubling Stellies defence, but they could not crack them to get an equaliser. The Rockets finished their campaign in the fifth spot.
