HAVING failed to deliver any trophy for Orlando Pirates in the past two seasons he spent in South Africa, Micho Sredojevic, who is now confirmed as Zamalek SC head coach, has promised them heaven on earth.
Whether he can deliver trophies to the door step of the White Knights of Egypt remains a question that can only be answered by the ancestors, for now.
"The famous new coach of the Zamalek team, Serbian Milutin Sridovic said that he is happy to take over the leadership of the White Knights in light of the popular mass enjoyed by him," was the verbatim quote from the club's website, translated from Arabic.
"Meizhou (Micho) said that he is coming to train Zamalek and his first goal is to win trophies and titles, especially as he is well aware that the team always seek to achieve victories.
"The statement continued that the club's board and fans aim to sweep everything in the Egyptian Premier Football League. Micho pointed out that his experience with the White Knights is certainly a great addition to his training career on the African continent," said the man who ended his holiday in Mzansi with an embarassing 3-0 loss to SuperSport United before his quick resignation, which sparked a lot of speculation locally, including allegations currently investigated by the SAPS.
The new coach further said that he is entering a new challenge with Zamalek.
He said he has great ambitions to provide a fun ball and harvest tournaments in order to delight the Zamalek crowd and achieve the goals of the board, "which was keen to contract with him".
Micho, who joined Pirates from Uganda where he enjoyed a lot of support, will start his big challenge with Zamalek when they play Caf Champions League football on 23 August against Somalian club, Dekedaha FC.
In the first leg the Egyptions gave the Somalians a "Hola-7" pasting (7-0) without reply from the two-times Somalia Cup champions.
