The now popular AmaFanDayz Fan of the Match competition has seen a fantastic start to the 2023/24 DStv Premiership campaign with interest and support continuously growing among local diski fans, as two more fans won big in November.

The penaltly kick competition at halftime during the activated AmaFanDayz matches has seen Benneth Mathamba and Letsie Sekhonyane win R200, 000 and R100, 000 respectively, from the two recently held AmaFanDayz matches: Moroka Swallows vs Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United vs Mamelodi Sundowns in Soweto and Attredgeville.

Benneth Mathamba, a professional male nurse originally from Thohoyandou but now based in Soweto eventually held his nerve to score his penalty against Motlatsi Mafatshe after a series of misses by all the finalists at the Dobsonville stadium. For his success, he walked away with the cash prize of R100, 000 and owing the fact that he’s a DStv Compact subscriber his prize money was doubled to R200, 000.

“Im so excited to have won this big prize. I didn’t know how one enters this competition until I was shown the process on the day of the match. This prize money couldn’t have come at a better time as I’ve been trying to save up to upgrade my qualification and do my nurse degree in order to move up a rank higher at the hospital,” said Mathamba, who’s a big Amakhosi fan.

At the Tshwane Derby on Wednesday night, cooly converted his penaltly at the first attempt and won R100, 000 on the spot, celebrating both his win and Sundowns’ triumph in the Tshwane Derby.

A staunch Sundowns fan, Letsie said: “This money will provide a good cushion towards the festive season for my family. I’ll spend the winnings mostly on my three kids and ensure all their needs are catered for going into the new year. This has been a very rewarding competition and I thank the league sponsors, DStv, for not forgetting about us as fans of the beautiful game”.

To enter the competition, fans are encouraged to get their match tickets then visit the DStv activation zone at the stadium on match day, then sign up with DStv promoters to stand a chance to be one of three participants in a sudden death penalty shootout against two DStv stars at halftime.

The festive season is going to be more rewarding with DStv this December as AmaFanDayz visits Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on both the 9th (Polokwane City vs Kaizer Chiefs, 15:30 kickoff) and 30th December (Sekhukhune United vs Kaizer Chiefs, 20:00 kickoff). In the lead up to both match days, DStv will be hosting an AmaFanDayz roadshows at venues still to be confirmed where local fans will be given an opportunity to win match tickets and branded merchandise.

DStv customers should stay tuned to SuperSport for top-notch content, as the match match will be shown live on TV or via DStv Stream the home of entertainment, the home of Diski.
