KING Misuzulu kaZwelithini is expected to officially announce his day of coronation and proceed with the ceremony.

This after the North Gauteng High Court dismissed the urgent application of Zulu royal senior Prince Mbonisi to stop king Misuzulu’s coronation, proposed for 13 August.

King Misuzulu has called all royal houses to a mass meeting at the Ulundi old legislature on Saturday, 29 July.

On Tuesday, Judge Noluntu Bam dismissed Prince Mbonisi’s urgent application and ordered him to pay legal costs.

Spokesman Prince Thulani Zulu told Daily Sun that the king might announce his official coronation date.

“Zulu royal current issues will be discussed step by step, including the official coronation. Family members are invited to attend the meeting,” he said.

Prince Thulani said they didn’t take the court judgment as a victory as they should have not fought as royals.

“We only congratulate late King Zwelithini on this because those who are challenging Misuzulu are challenging him because he is the one who appointed him,” he said.

“It is painful that there are still those who are challenging the king on the throne, but we support him.”

Since King Misuzulu was appointed, there have been court battles and disputes challenging him, and he’s won all of them.

Prince Mbonisi, the late king Zwelithini’s brother, has run to court many times trying to stop the coronation.

He told Daily Sun that he would meet with his lawyers and discuss the way forward.
