THE Betway website crashed, leaving players angry.
This comes after they announced on their Twitter page that their lucky winner of the week put R100 on a 12-leg multi-bet and turned it into R114 788.
Betway is an online gambling company that offers betting and other gambling products such as sportsbook and online casino.
Their website and app have not been operating since Wednesday, 2 November, and this has inconvenienced people who want to withdraw their wins.
Katlego Mdhuli, a Betway player, told Daily Sun the app doesn’t normally crash for more than two hours.
“I think from my observations, their crashes are one to two hours long. There’s always a delay especially when there seem to be big games.”
Betway on Twitter said they were experiencing technical issues.
“Dear customers, we let you down, we are sorry. We are aware of the technical issues. Open bets will be settled, and winners will be paid out. Your money is safe. Apologies once again.”
After this post, players took to Twitter to express their frustration.
Adrienne Alexander wrote: “This is nonsense. Most trusted platform keeps on crashing.”
Lungile wrote: “The money I won is nothing compared to what I was going to cash out on my other slips. Y’all need to compensate me.”
Lindo wrote: “Why does this happen every time there are big games? What’s going to happen to our cash out offers?”

An employee at Betway told the SunTeam that the issue may have been caused by a possible attack on the Betway service, and that the team was still investigating what caused the crash.
He said users might still face issues trying to access or log in to the site or app.
