A DEVASTATED woman (56) is traumatised after being raped and robbed at gunpoint in her room in Casteel near Bushbuckridge on Sunday, 19 March.

The victim claims she was asleep and woken up by noises.

"Suddenly, I was greeted by the two unknown suspects, both wearing balaclavas. They pointed guns at me, demanding money," she said.

"One quickly ransacked the wardrobe and took my money and TV set. His accomplice turned on me and raped me in front of my two relatives before they vanished," added said.

Brigadier Selvy Mohlala confirmed the police in Acornhoek are investigating a case of house robbery and rape that happened in Casteel Trust.

"One suspect searched the wardrobe and took an undisclosed amount of money. The other suspect allegedly raped the victim. They also took a TV," he said.

Mohlala said the investigation continues.

Anyone with information that may assist the police can contact Lieutenant- Colonel Aaron Digoro at 082 318 9925.
