Woman killed in train accident

A 20-YEAR-OLD woman was killed after falling onto the railway tracks at New York City’s Grand Central Station on Tuesday evening, 28 June.

According to Daily Mail, the conductor was unable to stop in time as the train pulled into the station.

The New York City Police Department told the publication that the woman was fatally struck shortly before 11pm.

“Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name.

“The operator reportedly tried to stop the train before hitting the woman, but was unable to break in time,” said the police.

New York Post reported that emergency services tried to help the victim out from under the train but she was declared dead an hour later.

It is not clear how the woman fell onto the tracks and cops reportedly ruled out any act of criminality on the incident.
