THE fraud and corruption case against Bosasa and Department of Correctional Services officials has been transferred to the North Gauteng High Court for pre-trial proceedings.

The case was postponed to 30 May. Three of the four accused

Former Correctional Services commissioner Linda Mti, former Correctional Services CFO Patrick Gillingham, and former Bosasa CFO Andries van Tonder made a brief appearance at the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court in Tshwane yesterday. But their co-accused, former Bosasa COO, Angelo Agrizzi, was yet again still not well enough to appear in court. The court ordered the state doctor to examine Agrizzi urgently. Agrizzi has been ill since October 2020.

He made an application to have the matter against him removed from the roll.

He stated that he’s suffering from severe prejudice in relation to the stress and anxiety of waiting for the state to determine if they will be able to proceed with the charges in view of his medical condition.

The matter relates to four tenders worth R1,8 billion awarded to Bosasa and its subsidiaries between 2004 and 2007.

Investigating Directorate spokeswoman Sindisiwe Seboka said the tenders were for catering, training, CCTV cameras and TV equipment.
