It is alleged the bus was transporting wedding guests from Umzimkhulu KZN south coast to Nongoma, northern KZN, when it hit a temporary barrier and overturned at about 3am on Monday, 2 May.

According to IPSS Medical Rescue spokesman Dylan Meyrick, the bus was travelling from Umzimkhhulu to Nongoma carrying 78 people, when it collided with a concrete barrier used to divert traffic around the damaged Umhlali River bridge and overturned.
