YET another fire has been reported in Joburg.

This time, the fire broke out at the Randburg Magistrates Court on Thursday, 7 September.

City of Joburg Emergency Management Services (EMS) confirmed that four vehicles were on fire at the court.

EMS spokeswoman Nana Radebe Kgiba said the team received a call at 9:13am and found four cars, which were parked outside the court, on fire.

She said the team managed to contain the fire and details surrounding its cause are under investigation.

"No fatalities or injures have been reported and the fire safety officers on scene are conducting preliminary investigations," she said. 

The City of Joburg has seen a string of fires of late. 

The first was the fire which guttered Usindiso Shelter, a hijacked building in the inner city, which claimed he lives of 77 people and injured more than 60. 

The second fire broke out in one of Egoli Gas' pipelines, setting fire to a truck and part of a building on the corner of Bertha and De Korte streets in Braamfontein, Joburg. 

The incident happened just after 3pm on Tuesday, 5 September. The fire was immediately contained by the city's Emergency Management Services. 

Five people were injured.
