Watch: Moroka cop shop on fire!

A kitchen and a storeroom were damaged in the huge fire at the Moroka police station in Soweto.

The incident broke out on Thursday evening, cop’s spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo.

News24 reports that the cause of the fire was still unclear.

Masondo said no files or dockets had been damaged, but an investigation was under way.

Maanwhile City of Joburg EMS spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi said: “Moroka Police Station extinguished the fire, the incident was reported in the early hours of this morning and affected the offices and a Kitchen but no injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is still a subject of investigations.”
