ACTIONSA leader Herman Mashaba shared that two men raped and killed his wife’s aunt at her North West home on Saturday, 6 August.
He was speaking outside Krugersdorp Magistrates Court, where seven men linked to last month’s gang-rape incident are expected to appear.
He said the 77-year-old had been living alone when two men in their 30s entered her home, raped and killed her.
This happened at the weekend, but her body was only discovered on Wednesday, 10 August.
“Fortunately, they have been arrested. This matter greatly touches us all as South Africans.”
He said the suspects were expected to appear in Temba Magistrates Court soon.
Meanwhile, Mashaba called for law enforcement to investigate the production company that hired the eight rape victims to shoot a music video at the abandoned mine in West Village.

He said he’d written to Police Minister Bheki Cele and commissioner Lieutenant-General Elias Mawela to give an update on the company.
“We want to know who they are and what steps they had taken to ensure those girls were safe. The company needs to account for what has happened because every production knows that before people go to a location, proper security checks need to be done,” he said, adding he’d given the company seven days to respond to his letter.
Mashaba also said there was nothing to celebrate over the arrests made by the police as that was their duty.
“That’s what we expect them to do, so we can’t celebrate that,” he said.
