AT least 100 people have lost their lives following the massive explosion.
Authorities in Beirut say it is too early to speculate on the cause of an explosion.

According to AFP, the huge blast at Beirut port overwhelmed entire neighbourhoods of the city, killing more than 100 people and injuring over 4 000.
