A MOURNING woman who recently lost a loved one wanted to find out if she needed to cleanse.
Her entire life has been surrounded by death.
She said throughout her life she has been burying people who are close to her and that includes family members. She said even her baby daddy died.
She asked Digital Bones’ sangoma Nzama Maluleke whether cleansing would help to put a stop to the deaths of her loved ones.
She said her family never practised cleansing following the death of a family member.
Sangoma Nzama said that was a big mistake.
“Cleansing plays a very important role following someone’s death,” he said.
“In African culture, it’s critical to cleanse after the death of a loved one.
“People sometimes believe cleansing means getting rid of the dead person or ancestors, but it’s not true. Cleansing simply means getting rid of a dark cloud that was brought about by death. The dark cloud doesn’t disappear on its own, even after the burial of a dead person. It hangs over the entire family until the cleansing takes place.”
The sangoma also explained what happens when cleansing doesn’t take place.
“Nothing positive and good ever comes. Money doesn’t stay long in the family and it’s a struggle to keep jobs. Death might even strike again in a short space of time.
“It is basically one bad luck event after the other.” He urged the woman to cleanse so she could move on with her life in peace and prosperity
