THE prospect of winning a whopping R110 million is enough to make anyone's imagination run wild.

That's the amount that was up for grabs in Tuesday's South African Powerball Jackpot.

According to financial experts, lottery winners should invest their millions in property or investment accounts, pay off their debts, hire a financial advisor, and live within a budget. While this is a brilliant idea, I Blew It tells us that people often lose their winnings as quickly as they earned it.

We took to the streets to find out how you would spend your millions if you won.

Nkululeko Ncube (26) said: “I’ll open shops at all the taxi ranks around Gauteng because it will be enough to start.”

Zethu Khumalo (52) said: “If it can happen that I can win that amount of money, education is a must for me!”

He said he would also buy a house for his family as it is an important priority for him.

Baleni (23) said: "I would start giving back to the hood by [telling people to stop] waiting for the government to come up with solutions to build better houses."

Phindile Shabalala (40) said: “I would buy myself a new house and a luxury car.”

Seemole Ramatswa (22) said: “I’d probably invest and then the rest I blew it, obviously!”

It seems like Mzansi has a responsible way of spending their Powerball winnings - but it's always easier said than done.
