THERE was loud singing and clapping of hands as members of Masowe Apostolic Church wailed out and called on the holy spirit to descend on them.

But instead of the holy ghost, residents of Extension 22 in Nellmapius, Tshwane descended on the congregants and threatened violence against them.

They demanded that the congregants immediately leave the bush where they held their service. And dressed in their white church clothes, frightened kids, women and men rushed to the road and bundled themselves in taxis.
