A SEVERE storm wreaked havoc in parts of Laudium, Erasmia and Gerhardsville in Tshwane on Tuesday night 19, September leaving behind a trail of devastation and disruption.
The storm brought strong winds that toppled trees, damaged buildings and snapped power lines, cutting off electricity supply to many residents.
Some people lost their cars, homes and valuables due to the heavy weather that was wrecked chaos.
The Laudium Disaster Management team, a group of dedicated volunteers, mobilised their resources and personnel to help the affected communities.
They worked throughout the night, clearing debris from roads, securing damaged roofs and walls, and providing emergency relief to those in need.

The Tshwane Emergency Services (TMS) said there were no injuries after the storm in the capital city of Pretoria.
There were also reports that electricity supply around Pretoria was knocked out by the strong winds and rain.
Tshwane Emergency Services' Charles Mabaso shared an update on the after effects of the storm.
“There were no injuries or any deaths reported to the Tshwane Emergency Services call centre. We take note of the multiple incident that were noted on social media due to the storm that wreaked havoc in various parts of Tshwane, uprooting trees in areas like Valhalla and Centurion," he said.
