SCORES of izangoma turned Baker Street red on Friday, 13 October as they danced and sang coming from the offices of Moja Love Channel at Rosebank Mall, north Joburg.
The izangoma, led by the Traditional Healers Organisation (THO), said they were tired of the fake traditional healers whose shows are aired on the channel.
They said these shows misrepresent and undermines real traditional healers.
They handed over a memorandum of their grievances to Moja Love representatives and gave them seven days to respond to their demands.
The spokeswoman for THO, Zanele Mazibuko, said they want Moja Love to remove shows such as Fake Gobela, Gogo Maweni, Zodwa Wa Bantu and other shows that refer to ubungoma.
"These fake izangoma are just entertainers and what they're doing is destroying our image as izingoma. We can't allow them to ruin our reputation. They're only there to make money and they'll do anything to get viewers," Mazibuko said.
THO has vowed to continue protesting until Moja Love listens to them.

"There are still genuine traditional healers. They're not after money but now we are being painted with the same brush."
The memorandum was received by Moja Love representatives, operations manager Archie Gwala and Xolani Maphanga.
