LOCAL business owners fear that Pilanesberg International Airport will have a serious negative effect on tourism as many visitors use the airport to visit Sun City and nearby tourist destinations in the North West.

This after the airport was gutted by fire. According to investigations, the fire started near the air traffic control tower at about noon on Tuesday, 29 August near Sun City. 

Some of the airport personnel tried to extinguish the fire, but the airport’s thatched roof had already caved in by the time firefighters arrived.
