POLICE at Parkweg station in the Free State are searching for 10 suspects who robbed a clothing store at Waterfront Mall on Monday, 4 April.
According to Lieutenant-Colonel Thabo Covane, a 27-year-old complainant, who is asecurity officer said they were about to close the store at 7pm when she was confronted by an armed African man.
He said the man signalled for more of the suspects to enter the store.
“A group of African males, estimated to be 10, stormed into the store. They broke the display cabinets and helped themselves to cellular phones, perfumes, and jewellery,” said Covane.
He said the suspects, who spoke Zulu, were wearing masks on their faces and gloves on their hands.
“They then fled the scene. Some are believed to have jumped into a silver Volkswagen Polo that was parked at the corner of Henry Street and First Avenue. There were no injuries to any members of the staff reported,” Covane said.
A case of business robbery was registered at Parkweg Police Station.
