MANY people have had their cars stolen while they are shopping.
This time the thugs tried to steal at the wrong place, and they were bust.
The two thugs were caught trying to steal a bakkie at Wonderpark Shopping Centre on Sunday, 2 April.
They were beaten and handed over to the cops.
They were apprehended by community patrollers who operated within the area.
Regional marketing manager of the shopping centre, Elizma Mouton, said quick response from security guards prevented an attempted motor vehicle theft.

She said the men were caught in the act while attempting to steal an NP200 bakkie.
“This is a true reflection of how important the safety of our shoppers, stores, and mall staff is, and we are grateful for the quick response from our security company and the Akasia Police.
"We want to assure shoppers that their property’s safety is a high priority, and we are aware of circumstances such as the holidays being a time when criminals want to take advantage of," Mouton said.
Gauteng police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masond confirmed the arrest of the two men.
"The duo is between the ages of 34 and 40, are facing charges of attempted theft out of a motor vehicle, and expected to appear in court soon,” he said.
He said Akasia acting station commander Lieutenant-Colonel Mokgetlhe welcomed the efforts of the community policing forums for continuously assisting the cops in fighting and reducing crime.
