THE court case against Mohale Sipho Moropana (20), who is accused of allegedly raping a goat, has been postponed.

Moropana from Ga-Seaphole in Limpopo, was released on bail at the Mogalakwena Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 3 January.

The disturbing incident happened on Monday, 1 January when Moropana was allegedly found naked engaging in a cruel act with a goat.

A local resident told Daily Sun that he was ashamed of the suspect's actions.

"It came as a surprise to us because we didn't expect him to have sexual intercourse with a goat," the resident said.

It's alleged that the complainant was on her way home with her husband and stumbled upon the gruesome scene at about 3am.

Limpopo police spokesman Hlulani Mashaba said when the wife arrived home, she first entered the house and found the suspect naked and having sexual intercourse with the goat.

"She went out and called the complainant to see what was going on. The complainant entered the room of the RDP house and found the suspect having sexual intercourse with the goat and he was naked. He then shouted for help," said Mashaba.

Members of the community heard the noise, went to help and the suspect was arrested.

Mashaba said police were called to the scene and the suspect was arrested.

"He was released on bail of R500, and his case was adjourned to 20 February 2024 for further investigations," Mashaba said.
